A New Tune for Gep Aide
In early July, Steve Elmendorf,
a Gephardt staffer said the following about Dean's Q2 fundraising numbers:
"I think you can overanalyze this. If Dean raises $15 million on the Internet in the next quarter, then we'll reevaluate."
Today in the Washington Post, after the Dean campaign announces that it expects to beat Clinton's record and raise more than $10M in Q3,
Elmendorf said:
"We're not going to raise that -- that's for sure," said Steve Elmendorf, a top Gephardt adviser. But, "at the end of the day, money isn't everything."
Yah, yah, yah. But, will they still "reevaluate" if the Dean campaign gets close to $15M?
