Debate Schedule

CNN is reporting that the dates and sites of the general election debates have been chosen.
The first debate will take place September 30, 2004 at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, followed by a second meeting October 8 at Washington University in St. Louis. The final debate is scheduled for October 13 at Arizona State University in Tempe.

A debate among the major party vice presidential candidates will be held at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland October 5.

All debates will be televised nationally starting at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
Mark your calendars. I'll still be very surprised if Bush agrees to debate anybody more than once (if that) and I will be even more surprised if the format allows anything other than Bush reciting memorized platitudes and yuk-yuking it up with the moderator.

That will be the moment that Democrats appreciate Howard Dean's aggressive criticism of Bush. Does anyone think Dean is going to pull a Joe Lieberman and politely enable Bush? Or do we know that our one-time wrestler is going toss Bush to the mat?
