More Dem Party Weakness

I found this in a thread over at Calpundit. It is exactly right, and ideas like this should be flooding Terry M, Daschle, Pelosi, and the rest of the Democratic leadership. STOP ROLLING OVER and agreeing with Republican conventional wisdom on everything. They're wrong, they're damaging the country, and they don't care whether you like them or not!
The so-called leadership of the Democratic Party needs to get the message. As I have read elsewhere, Dean is just the messsenger, we are the message.

Case in point lately is Daschle. On Charlie Rose tonight, he was asked to give his opinion on GWB as a political actor, he said oh he's one of the best. That's bullshit. The correct answer is, "It's hard to say Charlie. He was handed the White House by his father's judicial appointees. Even before 9/11 the national media has allowed him to misrepresent himself and his policies without question and conduct the people's business behind closed doors. Since 9/11, the press won't dare to question even his most brazen lies. When you compare the little he has accomplished, with all that, to what Bill Clinton accomplished with a hostile press and congress, I'd have to rate GWB pretty poorly, especially when compared with Bill Clinton."

And if Charlie says, isn't that partisan? The answer is, perhaps you didn't know this Charlie, but I am the leader of the Democratic Party, I'm supposed to be partisan.

But Daschle is utterly unable to be that. And that is exactly what is needed right now from an otherwise powerless minority in congress. The only power they have is to force public debate. Their votes are largely symbolic.

For some reason they don't get it.
It's completely maddening, and a big part of the reason, as I will rant repeatedly for the next year, I'm sure, that I remain an independent.
