Unbelievable

Haven't found a transcript or verified this yet, but Al Rodgers on Kos reports the following:
Kerry's on C-SPAN right now.

Some asked in the Q&A, that if he doesn't get the nod, will he do everything he can to help the nominee?

He said "I'll Try. It depends on my schedule"!!!! He was serious. Even upset that he was asked the question.
Un. Be. Lievable.

Kerry is officially an asshole in the J handbook.

Upset that he was asked? My candidate was asked this question repeatedly over the summer and early fall and answered what he should have given who's in the White House: "Of course."

What a prick.

Update: Scott claims this quote is false in comments. I haven't seen transcripts or video either way -- as I originally noted -- and wonder whether Al and Scott are referring to two different Q&As. Nonetheless, I will asterisk Kerry's name in the J handbook accordingly. Kerry might not yet have crossed the line into official asshole-dom. Time will tell.

Totally incorrect. Kerry was asked something to the effect of "Regardless of whether you are the nominee, will you pledge to come to the Florida Democratic convention in 2005?"

to which Kerry replied "I'll try. It depends on my schedule."

As usual it seems my fellow Dean supporters on the Blog for America (saw this "lie" posted there earlier) and dKos are getting carried away.
