DSCC Weblog

Oo. Shiny! The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has developed a weblog (with comments!) called "From the Roots" -- the name punning on "grassroots" (which for now seems like a sexy buzzword to most of the Dems, but we'll see if they actually buy in to, you know, participatory democracy or not) and on how one gets rid of a Bush. New Jersey Senator Corzine has a post up right now asking for money (natch) and arguing that we need a Democratic Senate.
If George W. Bush is re-elected, a Democratic Senate may be the ONLY force protecting us from policies that are destroying our economy, wreaking havoc with our health care system, damaging our environment, and making us look like fools on the world stage. It may also be the ONLY way to prevent more conservative appointments to the Supreme Court - appointments that could have implications for years, or even decades, after Bush leaves the presidency.

If a Democrat is in the White House, he will need the support of a Senate that can help him pass legislation that repairs the damage already wrought by the Bush years. He will need lawmakers who can help bring sanity, compassion, and responsibility back to American government. All we need to do is TAKE TWO...
