Nice Analogy

Nader isn't actually taking up too many brain cycles on my part, but I did appreciate this analogy in a thread over at dKos (begun to beat up on a poster there who's not enamored of Kerry -- Democrats need to stop doing that; it's terribly destructive):
If a vote for Bush pours fuel on the fire and a vote for Kerry pours water on it, a vote for Nader is like marching around the burning building with a placard that says how bad fire is and all the ways that a fire extinguisher would be oh so much more effective than a mere pale [sic] of water.

But we ain't got a fire extinguisher, we've got a pale of water.

And the fire is burning higher by the hour.

I know this is old and I'm being persnickety, but it's a PAIL of water. I'm not going to pay much attention to the point if the person making it can't tell the difference.

*shrug* It's a copy/paste. I'll add a [sic] if you like. But I don't fuss too much about typos. (And I believe that many of these sorts of mistakes are typos rather than spelling errors -- my fingers work faster than my brain sometime and type based on the sound of the word (e.g., there, not their; or your not you're), not the word itself.) I think spelling flames are the crudest form of flame.

Nah, don't bother. I know it happens, I've done it myself, and it isn't going to matter to most people. I'm just a lonely editor in a sea of indifference to accuracy and clarity, and sometimes I get cranky.

And yes, I knew it wasn't your error.

I love my editors. Unfortunately, they don't work for me, here. :)
