Gore gives old campaign cash to Dems

Gore Steers Millions to Campaign Committees
Former Vice President Al Gore has agreed to donate $1 million to both Democratic Congressional campaign committees from a federal compliance account left over from his 2000 presidential effort, according to informed Democratic sources.
That seems reasonable, and a nice windfall for the DCCC and DSCC.

There's more. AP says he's giving away more than $6 million total. $4 million will go to the DNC.
Now, why would Roll Call want to minimize this?
Well, to be fair, I only saw (and quoted) the first paragraph of Roll Call's article because that's all they make available on their (for-pay) site. They may well have included the DNC amount in the next sentence.
I should have looked a bit further afield.
Ok, ok -- that's fair. I thought the paragraph was all that they have. My cynicism with respect to the media knows no bounds...
