Ashcroft in the Hot Seat?
Ashcroft is testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Kossians are
blogging it in real-time. If their impressions are correct, it sounds like Ashcroft is getting a bit of a grilling:
Ashcroft just went into a fillibuster on the Geneva Conventions and Leahy cut him off...Yes or No..did you approve torture?
Biden: "If you don't invoke Executive Priviledge and still refuse to answer our questions it's Contempt of Congress." "There's a reason we sign these treaties. (slowly, incensed) To protect. My. Son. In. The. Military."
[Feinstein] got him to say the War on Terror is outside the Geneva Conventions.

Where are you getting to watch this? All I see on CNN is more stuff on people filing past Reagan's coffin.
(sigh)...I know the Reagan stuff is a big deal to a lot of people but why do we have to keep preempting real news?
Not watching, just reading the Kos thread that I linked to. I think it's on cspan.org somewhere, though.
