If this story is as reported, somebody on Kerry's or the DNC's staff should be fired.

Kerry has asked McCain as recently as late last month to consider becoming his running mate, but the Arizona senator said he's not interested, said a Democratic official who spoke on condition of anonymity because Kerry has insisted that his deliberations be kept private.

Of course, there may be wheels within wheels machinations that my primitive little brain is too stupid to understand, but if some Democratic 'official' leaked this without Kerry's ok, his or her ass should be grass. What is wrong with the Democratic party? Sheesh.
