September 4, 2004Dean Is Still the Man II
A bunch of blabber-mouth Democrats whined to the New York Times (Wilgoren, of all people! What is the matter with Democrats??) about the Kerry campaign. See this dKos diary for a rundown. And note well who stood up for John Kerry.
Howard Dean, the former governor of Vermont who lost the Democratic nomination to Mr. Kerry, said Democrats were overreacting, noting Mr. Kerry's come-from-behind victories against William Weld in the 1996 race for Senate in Massachusetts, and Mr. Kerry's decisive defeat of Dr. Dean in Iowa.Imagine that. Howard Dean, the truest, bluest Democrat of all, even after all the shit flung at him during the primaries from the party. He's a better person that I would be in the same circumstances. Dean said about the same thing last night on Real Time with Bill Maher. I'm more impressed with that guy the more I see him. If 6 months from now he's not either head of the DNC or in Kerry's cabinet, I'll be sorely disappointed. Posted by: Dori at September 4, 2004 04:25 PMI still love Howard Dean. The integrity and selflessness he's demonstrated are inspirational. Posted by: fishd at September 4, 2004 11:22 PMJ: This is a great post. I love Howard...he's fantastic. Kevin went to see him last week while he was in town for a book signing. He got Dean to sign some "Dean bucks" (from DFA) for me. I'm going to have them framed and hung in my family room. I agree with him that Dems way overreacted to the polls and to what Kerry's campaign is doing. Some of these guys that gave interviews cricizing Kerry's campaign are ridiculous. A Dem finally gets face time on a cable news show and instead of talking about how lousy Bush is...they go after Kerry? It's nuts. Posted by: carla at September 7, 2004 01:29 PMToo true. The fact that these insider Democrats are so intent on establishing their own cooler-and-more-hip-than-thou bona fides by attacking their own candidate is a blatant demonstration of the fact that they are almost as out-of-touch as the Bush administration is. Rather than dealing with the absolute crisis that the Bush administration has put our country in (on almost every level: foreign policy, war, the economy, civil rights), they prefer to blabber on about ridiculous inside baseball stuff to maintain their 'cred' with the WhoreMedia. It's disgusting and demonstrates in a graphic way where their priorities are. Posted by: J at September 7, 2004 02:04 PM |
