The Wire

Democratic-leaning sites are having fun with the notion that Bush was wearing a wire at the debates. There was a very odd picture suggesting he's got something under his suit (and supposedly the debate rules prohibited pictures from the back or something like that..), and the rumor is starting to percolate out into the mainstream media and punditocracy. I would be very surprised if Bush were actually wearing a wire at the debates (I'd expect him to perform better, for one thing), but I would not be surprised if he wore one at his too infrequent press conferences.

In any event, the best suggestion I saw for how Kerry should handle it is to whisper to Bush during the handshake: "My guys have tapped into your wire, so be careful what they say to you." On the slim chance he is wearing a wire, it might psych him out, and if he isn't, well, it's just a funny joke about all that silliness.

I like it. Of course, there are a lot of other things I think it would be amusing for Kerry to say to Georgie before the next debate, too:

"Say goodnight, George; you're going down."

"Go cheney yourself."

"Even your daddy can't save you now."

Stuff like that.. but Kerry's probably a classier person than I am.

Wednesday night. Kerry v.s. Bush or Red Sox v.s. Yankees? I know what I'll pick. (Also probably most undecided swing voters.)
